This wedding is a little more unique than the others I have submitted, in that it steers away from the typical classic glam or rustic vibe and more of a quirky, nerdy one (which I loooove)! The theme of today’s wedding feature was largely based on the couple’s mutual love of movies and video games, with a touch of tradition. A gorgeous venue, handmade triforce, a life sized inflatable dinosaur, rupees used as gift notes, and a beautiful cape wedding dress – we are starry-eyed with the brilliance of Susan and Derek’s magical wedding at Riverway Clubhouse in Burnaby, BC.

Hello readers! Planning a wedding has been a bit of a feat in the last little while hasn't it? According to Hellosafe.ca, B.C'S Wedding industry lost $158 million in 2020. The decline was most apparent where the number of marriages passed from 1,453 in 2019 to 730 in 2020 (-49.8 %). Considering that a large majority of celebrations have been postponed to 2022, we are most likely going to see a record year for the wedding industry in BC, hitting at almost 900 million!

Leslie and Shane originally had planned a larger celebration with all of their closest friends and family in early August 2020. Covid threw a little dent in their plans which had them them to move their date later in the year to October 31st, hoping the guest count restriction of 50 would lift.
